Turn it up, put a smile on and get ready to move!
Oz Island 'Better Life' Album is out now!!!

These four men from north Australia are making music that has people talking. With songs like the title track of the album, Better Life; a prayer for a better life, to Perfect Love that pays tribute to the heady effects of falling in love and the language track, this album will have you moving to the sweet but complex reggae style of Oz Island.
Having grown up around music, it runs through their blood and colours almost everything they do.

Oz Island is...
Geoffrey James, Fabian Cox, Japeth James and Patrick Laurel met and started Oz Island in Perth a few years ago, they've been gigging their way around WA, playing at various festivals and events with great acclaim.

Lead singer Japeth's counts among  his many relatives members of the Saltwater Band Saltwater Band, which launched Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu’s solo career. Geoffrey and Fabian are family of the great Kimberley's band Fitzroy Xpress and Fabian grew up with his dad and Mark Bin Bakar playing in bands.

With the rasta style and the smooth Pacific-style reggae throughout, the band has a social conscious and is keen to leave a legacy over and above great music.
The language track, Gorrngunya, is spoken in lead singer Japeth James' traditional language of Burarra from Maningrida and makes a statement on the debilitating effects of marijuana on men.
